Title I'm A Survivor
Inspiration The inspiration for this brick came from the fight I have endured the past 15 months with my breast cancer. Although I had a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery, I remain positive that I can survive this cancer. My doctor said she's never seen more than two different cancers in one breast, and yet I had three.
Brick Number 377
Artist Full Name Ava Bachelier
Artist Short Bio I've been fighting since my premature birth - I'm legally blind, had polio as a child and still suffer its effects, and in 2009, lost my right breast due to 3 different cancers. I lost all my hair, which came back curly and unmanageable, but not my sense of humor. Just as I've managed to surpass the other obstacles (blindness and polio) in my life, I'm confident I will survive this. My worsened eyesight caused me to give up detailed painting, but I still donate a brick each year. The benefit far outweighs the cost (migraine headache).
